Role: Creative Director

Working from home was weird at first. I created an interactive show using the party game Codenames to play with my department every Friday.

The Unboxing

Role: Creative Director

How do you grab the attention and imagination of millennial tech enthusiast's? By announcing a mysterious new technology and unboxing it live.

In July of 2014, we placed two large boxes containing a mystery technology in the high foot traffic areas of SF and Boston. Even the street teams had no idea what was in the boxes. Those who took guesses were told to tune a few days later to watch the unboxing streamed live.

Two days later, our 14-minute live stream from San Francisco introduced the world to a 4GLTE-equipped Chevy Malibu. The event connected people from all across the U.S. and was streamed on every one of AOL's platforms. AOL estimated over 7 Billion impressions.

Being able to bring this idea to life was a huge challenge, that I enjoyed every minute of. I sold the idea and was creative lead - although it took a huge and diverse team to pull it off.

Three months of intense planning and design culminated in a story that connected people, including a singer/songwriter performing on the back of a Silverado in Boston to a Manchester United legend playing soccer with a team of young players in Ann Arbor Michigan.

The experience was not just a kitchy use of Oculus, but an interactive exploration. The user was transported to a quiet wilderness outside of Las Vegas to visit three distinct type of Chevy vehicles and through a Minority-Report like interface they could interact with each of the vehicles.

Being able to concept and direct a VR experience is a gamer's dream. I was able to lean on my experience with interactive story-telling and learn new things specific just to Virtual Reality.

Rise of the Chevy Autobots

Role: Creative Director | Senior UX Designer

With the launch of the redesigned Camaro and the premier of the first Transformers movie, Chevy wanted to do something big online. We crafted and sold a three-month game with a solid narrative that I was lucky enough to present to Spielberg himself.

Rise of the Chevy Autobots
Driven by a living blog from Bumblebee, the players assumed the role of one of the 7 Chevy Autobots, each with their own powers. Players would solve puzzles given by Bumblebee as a community to unlock more powers for the community.

Then players would challenge their friends to duels by playing a game system created by me. A player would issue a challenge to a friend by selecting 5 moves and then the opponent would select 5 moves as well. The resulting battle would animate for both players and show who had won.

We had over 280,000 active players by the end of the event.
