The Problem: ACDelco.com had a fragmented and outdated user experience, making it difficult for users to navigate and access key information.
The Solution: A complete redesign that utilized user testing insights, a new style guide, and responsive design principles to create a cohesive and intuitive experience across all devices.
On the ACDelco.com refresh, I was the sole UX/UI designer responsible for overhauling the site’s online experience from the ground up. This was an ambitious, end-to-end redesign that required strategic planning and meticulous execution to elevate the site’s usability and brand presence across multiple viewports.
The project began with a comprehensive assessment of the then-current user experience, which I supported by overseeing live user testing. Over two days, I gathered feedback from 10 participants, amassing over 2,000 data points that shaped our functional design strategy. This data-driven approach allowed me to make informed design decisions tailored to real user needs and preferences, ensuring the site would deliver an optimal experience.
A significant part of my work involved creating a new style guide that served as a foundation for the site's visual language. The guide ensured consistency across ACDelco’s extensive product pages and maintained brand integrity, while also being flexible enough to evolve with future updates. Balancing brand guidelines with usability principles, I designed over 50 unique pages, each tailored to be responsive and optimized for different viewports (desktop, tablet, and mobile).

My focus throughout was on making the digital experience seamless and intuitive. I employed wireframing to test and iterate on concepts, moving from low-fidelity sketches to polished, high-fidelity prototypes. The emphasis was always on clarity and ease of navigation, crucial for a user base often seeking technical information about auto parts and services. By thoughtfully structuring content and enhancing the visual hierarchy, I made sure that even the most complex product details were easy to find and understand.
The outcome was a modern, responsive, and highly functional website that catered to a diverse audience, from everyday car owners to seasoned mechanics. This solo effort exemplified my ability to manage large-scale projects independently while leveraging UX principles like usability testing, responsive design, and style guide development to drive success.
